RideStats

Install RideStats

Android 8.0 or newer. The app is not on Google Play, so you install it directly — the steps below are the ones Android will walk you through.

Version 1.0.0 · built 9 Aug 2026

1. Open the link on your phone

Tap Download above in your phone's browser. Chrome will warn that this file type can harm your device — that warning appears for every APK, including this one. Keep it.

2. Allow the install

Tap the downloaded file. Android asks whether to allow your browser to install unknown apps; turn it on, then come back and confirm. Play Protect may also ask to scan the app — let it.

3. Grant location and notifications

On first launch allow location while using the app, then all the time when RideStats asks — that second one is what keeps a ride recording with the screen off.

Then, before your first proper ride

Mount the phone, park the bike upright on level ground, and run Settings → Calibrate mount. Lean angle and g-force stay switched off until you do — an uncalibrated phone measures its own pose, not the bike's.

Sign in with your rides.veru.se account to back rides up and share them. Recording works fine signed out; anything recorded offline uploads once you sign in.
